Frequently Asked Questions

Client FAQ

Do you have questions about working with us? Here are some of the most common questions our clients ask us.

How do I cancel my order?
If you have made an error in an order, it is possible to update certain aspects, such as the brief, by re-entering the order and updating it. If you are unable to make the change you need, or need the order canceled, please contact your project manager and they will help you out. They will not be able to cancel an order for you if the writer has already started work on the order.
When will I get my texts?
How long it takes to produce your texts can depend on how many of our services you are using, the length and complexity of the text, any fine-tuning/revisions, and your language requirements. We endeavor to produce your content as efficiently as possible. Generally, each part of the process is complete within 48 hours. Some texts, such as short ones, can be done much quicker, while large texts can take a little longer. If you upload a large batch of orders in one go, then they will be worked through on a daily basis, with content being delivered regularly – not all in one go.
Can I get a free sample?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer free samples of work. However, please feel free to check out our client testimonials. We think they speak for themselves.
Your website isn't working for me. Now what?
Please ensure that your internet browser is up to date and that you have a stable internet connection. If you are still unable to connect to the website but can access it on other devices, please send us an email to [email protected] and we will do our best to help!

Author FAQ

If you are planning to, or are already working with us here at Yuqo, you will find answers to some common questions that may be relevant to you below.

I have signed up to work with you guys. Now what?
Upon signing up, your application is sent to our recruitment managers for review. Please be aware, while applications are assessed as swiftly as possible, it can sometimes take us a while to get back to you.

Once our managers get in contact with you to discuss your application, we will require you to perform some tests for us to assess your skills and suitability. Upon sending this to us, our managers will assess your tests and get back in contact to give you your results.

At times, it may be the case we are not accepting applications for certain languages, as we have enough writers and translators to cover them. We do this to ensure that those working for us have regular work. If you do not hear from us, do not fret! We keep all applications, and will contact you with a test and to discuss availability in due course when a spot opens up.
My test was rejected. Why? Can I try again?
Our testing process is strict in order to ensure quality. If our recruitment managers do not think the quality of the work you submit for our test meets or standards, then we will not be able to take your application further. You will receive an email informing of this, as well as any specific reasons why.

If you feel you can do better, you are welcome to try again by informing the recruitment manager, but your next test will be held to the same standards we expected from the first.
Can I have my account deactivated?
If you no longer wish to work with us at Yuqo, you can send us an email to [email protected] from the email address you are registered with us from requesting account deactivation. Alternatively, you can also speak to your editor or project manager to request account deactivation.
Can I have my account reactivated?
If you decide to come back to us, send us an email to [email protected]. As long as there is a need for your language(s), we will be happy to get you back up and running.

If you have had your account deactivated due to quality issues, we will not be able to reactivate your account or accept a new application.
Why do I have to verify my account with valid ID?
Having you verify your ID allows us to confirm we are working with the people we think we are, helping to prevent fraud. It is a requirement in order to receive payment.
Why do I have to provide a postal address?
You need to supply us with a postal address as part of requirements to help prevent fraud and help verify the identity of our authors. We also require a postal address in order to process payments.
Do I need to have a tax identifying number (VAT or SIRET) to receive payments?
Each country's law varies, so please ensure you know what is required in order to work as a freelance in your country of residence. Not all countries require a freelancer to have a tax identifying number. If you have one, please include it on your profile for payments. You are responsible for ensuring you meet your tax requirements.
I can’t log in, what do I do?
First please ensure that your browser is up to date and that cookies are not disabled for our website, as this could cause problems with the browsing experience. Next, please try resetting your password on our signing form. If this does not work, then send us an email to [email protected].
How do I get paid?
First, you will need to verify your account and fill in your payment information. We currently offer two methods of payment: direct banks transfer and Skrill.

You may request payment anytime you are owed over €50. Upon request, our accounts department will receive notification. Payments are usually processed the following Friday but can take up to 14 days under certain circumstances. Depending on the payment method you have chosen, it can then take another 2-3 days to appear in your account.
Do I need to format texts?
If the client provides instructions on how they would like their text formatted, then please follow their instructions. If no formatting instructions are provided and you are a writer, please format the text in a readable, logical way. If you are a translator, and no specific instructions state otherwise, please copy the formatting of the source text.
